About Scott
Thinker. Writer. Marketer.
Alas, this blog could be called “Scott Has Ideas” or “Scott Thinks,” but let’s face it – I’m a writer at heart. It’s been an interesting transformation. I originally wanted to be a high school band teacher—heck, I even conducted “Rhapsody in Blue” with an ensemble that some friends and I put together, and this was high school no less! But then I decided I wanted to enjoy college, so I switched to majors to Corporate Communications and never looked back.
I’ve written copy for just about every medium: TV, radio, long-form video (VOD), print, direct mail, email, and web. Currently, I work for Western Governors University where I write and manage the creative for the university’s email, website, print, and direct mail communications. But that’s my day job.
What do I think about? A great many things. I’ve developed a passion for email marketing, so I write about it here. I’m a new dad (to a beautiful baby girl), so I write about those emotions and experiences here as well. I’ve always been passionate about sports (particularly my beloved Redskins), so I’ll occasionally rant about my disdain for Daniel Snyder. My thoughts also cover politics, social media, and other trends and various outrages.
Hence, “Scott Writes Everything.”
