In honor of Labor Day, I’m not going to throw up a long post, but rather a list of good reading items for everyone. Here goes:
- “Read Before You Hit Send: An Email Checklist” | Bronto’s Kristin Gregory with a solid reminder of what to do before hitting the send button.
- “Stop Sending So Many Emails!” | Blue Sky Factory’s Amy Garland tells us less is more with email–and I agree.
- “Because this is really all about life, not Marketing” | Olivier Blanchard (The BrandBuilder) reminds us that good marketing comes from learning about life.
- “How Good Do You Want to Be?” | Lisa Harmon and Alex Madison apply Paul Arden’s book to email marketing.
- “5 Stages of Email Viewing” | A solid reminder from Kristina Schott of ExactTarget on how people view email.
- “PR and Email Marketing: A marriage made in heaven” | DJ Waldow’s best practices that apply to both PR and email marketing.
- “Stop selling and take the order already!” | John Caldwell of Red Pill Email reminding email marketers to get to the point on the landing pages.
Shameless Plugs for some of my work:
- “A Primer for Effective Email Marketing” | My guest post on DotEDUGuru.com
- “Kohls.com Plain Text Welcome Email” | Email Zoo Blog guest post
- “Target, I don’t feel welcome” | Another Email Zoo Blog guest post
Those are the links for now. I expect to have a post tomorrow on another topic, then get to the next post in the Naughty Words of Email Marketing series: Buy.

I feel honored! Thanks for including me on your Labor Day reading list!
@djwaldow Hmm… maybe greens fees for 18 holes? 6-pack of microbrews or imports?
@Kristin You’re welcome. I’ll always try to link to good articles like yours! You keep writing them; I’ll keep linking to them. And BTW, thanks for the shout-out on the Bronto Blog’s “Best of the Blogosphere.”
Beer is the bets. Done.
